Linde 39X. The revolution grows

The new T20SP pallet truck from Linde is creating plenty of interest as it is launched around the world. Impressive new features include a revolutionary driving position, intelligent speed reduction system, shielded operators compartment and state-of-the-art controls.

Though it won’t be available in Australia until June this year, Linde claims that many safety-conscious local companies are excited about the impact the T20SP will have on their operations.

The loading/unloading activities for a pallet truck in a warehouse typically involve an operator spending equal time driving forwards and reversing. With this in mind, Linde have introduced a 45° driving position. This positioning provides the operator with a panoramic view when driving in any direction and removes the physical constraints linked to the usual driving positions.

Further enhancing operator safety and productivity is Linde’s new ‘e-driver’ control system. The operator can simply control the pallet truck with one hand, thus freeing the other to perform key tasks such as scanning, picking or marking.

The T20SP is also equipped with proportional power steering for effortless control and a self-centering feature that ensures stable and productive straight line performance. This intelligent system also automatically reduces the travel speed in relation to the tightness of the turn.

The compartment of the T20SP is surrounded by two high shields with a steel skirt protecting the platform against fork intrusions. The platform is also suspended on shock absorbers which eliminate vibrations when driving on uneven surfaces. These protective measures guarantee a safe and comfortable working environment.

According to Linde’s Managing Director, Carl Smith, the T20SP provides the optimum combination of safety and performance features.

“This is a powerful pallet truck. Its top speed of 10km/h can be reached, loaded or unloaded, in 5 metres and it has the unique ability to climb ramps up to 13% when fully loaded and 20% unloaded. Importantly, the truck’s key performance aspects, such as acceleration, speed and braking, can be tailored to suit each customer’s application.

“Customers are also going to be impressed with the serviceability of the T20SP. Thanks to a diagnostic plug located at the front of the truck, our field service technicians have easy access to all the truck’s data, making light work of identifying and rectifying problems.”

The maintenance intervals for the T20SP are 1,000 hours or once a year, further contributing to customers achieving maximum uptime,” explains Carl.
